The eagle was a powerful symbol in the Viking Age. I have copied the design of my pendant from an original carving in the late 10th century Mammen style. The screeching eagle recurs in viking poetry as one of the harbingers of battle and is remembered in many ancient warrior names. The legends of the Younger Edda tell of the eagles that sat atop the World Tree, beating their wings to bring wind to the world. This image of a viking eagle was carved into a bone chest known as the Cammin Casket, which shows some of the most fantastic art of the Viking Age.

The image of nobility from the past becomes a pendant for us today.

      Brilliant, distinctive pendant

Bought this in silver for my son's 21st. We wanted something unusual and handmade with a viking reference. The pendant is such an unusual design and it is a great size and weight. My son absolutely loves it!
